Joanne - Your Hygienist
Hello my name is Joanne. I joined Greyholme Dental suite as a permanent member of the team in 2012.
I moved to Gloucestershire from Birmingham in 2003, having qualified as a Dental Nurse, Practice Manager, Oral Health Educator I then qualified as a Dental Hygienist in 2000 from Liverpool Dental Hospital.
I am passionate about my job and aim to provide precision, gentle pain free dental hygiene in a relaxed and friendly environment.
I really enjoy working with patients who are nervous and helping then regain the confidence to attend regular stress free hygiene therapy and achieve a healthy smile you can keep for life.
I am a member of the British Society of Dental Hygiene and Therapy and Gloucestershire Independent Hygienists where I served on the committee for 5 years providing local Hygienists with continuing professional development courses.
I maintain my knowledge and skills as a dental hygienist by attending regular courses, conferences, webinars, reading journals , research papers.
When I’m not working I spent most of my time looking after the 3 boys in my life – Warren my husband and our 2 active boys Lucas and Ethan.
When I do have time to myself I enjoy swimming, walking, going to spas and enjoying going to pubs to sample the wonderful cuisine out there.
Morna - Your Hygienist
Hi, my name is Morna and I have been part of the Greyholme hygiene team since October 2016. Previous to becoming a hygienist I has worked in dentistry as a dental nurse and oral health advisor. I qualified as a hygienist in 2004 at Birmingham dental hospital. I have worked in hospitals with oral cancer, orthodontic centres and oral medicine departments but my true passion is helping nervous patients overcome their fear.
I am lucky enough to work part time and on my ‘days off’ I look after my young daughter Ruby, she is a bundle of endless joy and happiness. My weekends are spend renovating our house and catching up with friends and family. When I get some me time I like to watch truly rubbish TV programmes, go running or occasionally go and support Gloucester at Kingsholme
Emma - Your Dental Nurse
Emma joined us in Autumn 2016 as Greyholme’s Pain Free dental nurse. She has come to us after nursing for the MOD at a few sites around the country.
She has been nursing for 6 years but regularly thinks to herself that “I wish that I’d found it sooner”
Emma says “I love my job so much. I am very much looking forward to learning more and more about this industry and hope to qualify in many associated areas such as radiography and fluoride application.”
As a child Emma was an avid Irish dancer, having competed in numerous fèis, went on to win herself several trophies and medals.
Nowadays she likes to take her energy into the great outdoors, going for a nice hike in the countryside and to practice her hobby of landscape and nature photography.
She is currently learning to speak Hungarian in preparation for more visits with friends and their family.
Lydia- Receptionist & Smile Advisor
Lydia is our receptionist and has been with us since summer 2014; she was educated at Prince Henrys High school in Evesham but has always lived in the surrounding villages of Bredon Hill.
She is a very enthusiastic person who will always welcome you with a smile!
Lydia says “I have been welcomed into the team with open arms and I feel right at home; I used to meet so many different people in the hospitality industry but never got enough time to build any long lasting friendships so I am happy I can start that process here with patients and staff alike.”
In her spare time Lydia likes to spend time sampling local restaurants as she has a keen eye for good food and even better wine. She spends lots of time with her close family and friends; whether it’s going for a walk up Bredon hill or sipping Pimms in the local pub.
